Anyone create custom Audio MIDI Setup icons?

Postby mpipher1 » Fri, 14 Mar 2003 7:34 pm

I recently found how to create custom icons for the Audio MIDI Setup app in OS X. I was about to invest the time creating custom icons for my setup rather than using the generic ones provided. But I wanted to query the group first to find out if anyone has made, or knows of a resource for, icons of specific gear. Thanks!

I made some cool ones. maybe i will post them on a web page.

Also when you make the .PNG files you need to put a number infront of the file name. here are the open number spots in the list.
8-10 -
24-29
40-45
55-60
72-75
84-89
99-103

114-122
132-137
150-155
166-172
181-187
221-227
240-242
254-260

Try Google image search for source graphics. After that there is a good tutorial here :

Thanks for all the info and the icons,, oink and peter. The icons peter posted were made for Logic 6, but they do work with Audio MIDI Setup as well. I just dropped them into the "Generic" folder and they show up in AMS.

Peter - in OS X 10.2, there is an Audio MIDI Setup program in the Utilities folder which lets you configure your audio hardware and define all of your MIDI devices (sort of like OMS for OS X). This is what I wanted the icons for, but yours work here too.

I've made icons for all the Novation line of synths PRIOR to the A station.

(nova, supernova, bass station, drum station)

http://www.vektor7.com/files/doktor/

I dragged them into a separate folder called novation and it worked fine. Incidentally, they don't have to be .png files, .tiff files with an alpha channel are fine too.

I don't know if these will work witth logic though. They DO work in audio midi setup.

this thread may be dead already, but I'll give it a shot....

I made a bunch of custom AMS icons for my setup and would like to share them. I have some webspace that's included with my service plan from my provider but I have neither the time, knowledege or experience to make a http/ftp site so people can download em. Is there somewhere I can post them to make them available or would anyone be interested in including them on their site?

These are the icons I've made so far

Novation basstation rack
Juno 106 (front and 3/4 view)
Akai S-950
Akai S-2000
Akai S-300XL
Roland JP-8080 (front and 3/4)
Oxygen 8 (front and 3/4)
Midisport 2X2
Jv-2080
EMU Orbit
EMU Audity 2000
Digitech TSR-24
Sony HR-MP5
Roland A-50
Opcode Studio 128X (!)
Yamaha CS-15 (double !!)

They're OK at small sizes but get a little choppy if you blow em' up too much.

if anyone is interested in these just PM me.
G5 2X1.8 • Tigah 10.4.8 • PTle 7.3.1cs2 • Live 6.0.7 • Reason 3.05 • MBox • UAD-1
