GForce Software, recently recognized for the greatest software synthesizer of all time, has previewed significant upgrades to another beast in the stable at this year’s NAMM show. impOSCar 2 delivers a slew of new features, many of which have been borrowed from the venerable Oberheim OB8.

impOSCar 2 has no shipping date yet. There will be an upgrade path from, and it is backwards compatible with, the original impOSCar. Perhaps we will learn more at Musikmesse 2010 in late March. Until then we’ll have to be satisfied with some demo videos and this feature list.

The original impOSCar is available in AU, VST and RTAS formats for both Intel and PowerPC Macs running OS X 10.4 or later. impOSCar has won numerous awards including the Future Music Platinum Award, Electronic Musician’s Best Software Emulation & Editor’s Choice Award, Computer Music Editor’s Choice & Performance Award, Music Tech Magazine’s Recommended Award and Keyboard Magazine’s Key Buy Award.
